Work
experience
Co-Owner/Business Manager. Patuxent Brewing
2017 - present
My main functions are preparing legal documentations; website design; fundraising; finance; presenting before state and local governing boards; project management; and public relations.
Creative Consultant. The Culture Visionary
2016 - present
Freelance editing, grant writing, and consulting for clients looking to hone their talents and entrepreneurial spirit.

Philanthropic Division. The Pew Charitable Trusts
2014 - 2016
During my time, I was a team-oriented thinker and strategist able to effectively respond to complex situations involving numerous and sometimes competing organizational constituencies. I helped train administrative assistants to maximize their productivity and workflows with software such as Salesforce CRM and PeopleSoft.
The bulk of my responsibilities consisted of copy-editing reports, proposal/grant reviews; preparing briefing memos on emerging issues; and updating board documents and presentations. I managed administrative functions for the senior development director; the vice president; and the work of the Pew Research fundraising team. I also focused on prepping meeting materials, coordinating travel and events in support of prospect cultivation and stewardship, reconciling credit card charges and managing expense reimbursements, producing and editing documents, creating and maintaining files, copying, and faxing. Upon my departure, I had successfully implemented an instructional tool for administrative assistants to document their
productivity.

Personal Assistant. Nobel Laureate Dr. Robert Corell
2006 - 2013
I had the pleasure of working with the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, at multiple organizations and for various projects.
During my time with Dr. Corell, I served numerous roles - from executive assistant and personal assistant - to project manager and director of operations. However, my main function was to make sure his time was maximized efficiently. I enjoyed the variety of the work - from scheduling meetings with heads of state and international royalty - to becoming an extensive editor of op-eds, books, and other materials relating to social and physical sciences (i.e. legislative, scientific, and philanthropic). The endeavor of creating and reviewing so many different types of works, allowed me to become advanced on diverse levels of editing (copy, developmental, technical, stylistic, and proof-reading). While maintaining my general administrative duties, I created websites, prepared workshop budgets, interviewed and trained staff, and responded to media requests.

1999 - 2005
I initially arrived at OSU via a welding engineering scholarship (such is life). However, my true passion has always been building connections through words, so I received a bachelor's degree in rhetoric and linguistics, with a minor in business management.
